Hermann Gmeiner kindergarten pupils graduate to grade one

It might not be a degree they are getting right now, but it’s a stepping stone to milestones to come in their lives. The pupils of kindergarten are having their year-end graduation and right now, it’s an important achievement for them.  The joy and support of their parents is quite evident, but who wouldn’t be happy to see their child progress and excel

Children are our greatest resource. they carry within them the shape of tomorrow; bear witness to our own values and choices…education is the biggest equalizer of opportunity in life; breaking inter-generational transmission of poverty, reducing disease burden and mortality and making a powerful human being whose limit cannot be established”.

During the graduation ceremony, the children enjoyed a serenade performance from their head teacher and one of the parents, who sang to them about being focused on their education, being disciplined and most of all being obedient to their parents. (top)

The children themselves also gave various performances, showcasing what they have learned in school as well as their singing and acting prowess. (bottom)

As SOS Childrens Villages Zambia we remain committed to our mission; to help shape the future of these children entrusted to us by you parents and the government of Zambia, and to share in their development and that of their communities. This graduation today is testimony to our mission.

To end the day, the children sang a farewell song to their teachers and took a photo with their teachers and the Guest of Honor
