Strengthening Mental Health support for Children and Young People

The Comic Relief has funded a project which is being implemented by SOS Children’s Villages Zambia in Partnership with REPSSI valued at 667,977 Pounds.

The Project which is being implemented in Katete, Chipata, Kazugula and Livingstone is aimed at building the resilience of 72,000 children and young people aged 5 to 24 with or at risk of developing mental health problems in 4 districts in Zambia. It will enhance the capacity of community structures to be responsive and offer support to children and young people with or at risk of developing mental health problems.

The project outcomes are:

1.       Increased capacity of community structures to respond to and support children with or at risk of developing mental health problems

2.       Increased resilience for children and young people at risk of developing mental health problems

3.       Increased access to appropriate mental health support services

4.       Improved policy environment on mental health for children and young people.
