Bata Zambia and SOS Children’s Villages Zambia Launch Transformative Youth Empowerment Partnership

In a significant step toward fostering sustainable community development, Bata Zambia and SOS Children’s Villages Zambia have announced a powerful new partnership aimed at empowering 2,500 young people across Zambia.

The collaborative initiative will provide mentorship and psychosocial support programs designed to nurture resilience, skills, and confidence among the nation’s youth.

The partnership was officially launched at a special event held at Bata’s Manda Hill store in Lusaka. Octavia Bwalya, Country Manager of Bata Zambia, emphasized the company’s long-standing commitment to supporting children and young people, stating: “At Bata, we believe in creating meaningful impact in the communities we serve. This partnership reflects our dedication to helping Zambian youth build a foundation for a brighter future.”

Dr. Paul Kapotwe, National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Zambia, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts in driving social change. “We are thrilled to join forces with Bata Zambia. Together, we can provide essential mentorship and psychosocial support that will help vulnerable youth realize their potential and contribute positively to society.”

As part of the initiative, an in-store campaign has been introduced, allowing Bata customers to easily contribute to the cause. This engagement strategy aims to broaden community involvement and ensure the program’s sustainability and reach.

This partnership marks a milestone in corporate and non-profit collaboration in Zambia, uniting expertise and resources to create lasting, positive change for the country’s next generation.
