SOS Children’s Villages Zambia joins the global celebration of the Bata Shoe Organization’s Founder’s Day, highlighting a partnership that is not only changing lives but also fostering local economic empowerment. The collaboration, under the #BataChildrensProgram, has recently enabled a significant milestone: awarding seed funding to two exceptional youths for entrepreneurship training.
This direct investment in Zambian youth exemplifies the tangible outcomes of the partnership, which over the past two years has created ripples of hope from the local community to the global stage. The awarded funds will provide the young entrepreneurs with the resources needed to pursue vocational training and develop business plans, equipping them with skills for sustainable self-reliance.
“As we honour Bata’s legacy that began in 1894, we see that same spirit of craftsmanship and enterprise alive today in Zambia,” said a national spokesperson for SOS Children’s Villages Zambia. “This Founder’s Day, we are celebrating a partnership that builds safer futures and also invests directly in the ambition of our youth. Supporting these two young entrepreneurs is a powerful step toward breaking the cycle of poverty and fostering community leaders.”
The announcement also looks ahead to continued collaboration. This September, Bata teams worldwide will roll up their sleeves to volunteer and fundraise, with local activities planned to further support the mission of SOS Children’s Villages.
“The energy of the #BataChildrensProgram is inspiring,” the spokesperson added. “From global support to local impact here in Zambia, this is partnership in action. Thank you, Bata, for standing with us. Together, we are truly moving #ForwardTogether, ensuring a better tomorrow for every child and youth in our care.”
